This compact session will focus on implementing visual supports to enhance both communication and behavior management in inclusive classroom settings.  This session is designed to be practical and immediately applicable, with a focus on quick wins that teachers can implement the next day.  An overview of students who could benefit most from visuals will be highlighted including those with special needs.  The presenters will explain how visual supports can bridge communication gaps and promote independence within your classroom.  The versatile uses and numerous types of visuals will be emphasized.  Participants will be provided with concrete references as well as some hard copies that can be used instantly upon returning to the classroom.
Success Indicators
  • Teachers understand the connection between communication and behavior
  • Teachers will identify 3 types of visual supports
  • Each participant has one concrete implementation plan
